Tail Controller is an admin client for Headscale, a self-hosted control server you run yourself. The app collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party services, and its developer receives no data from it.

What the app stores on your device

• The address of your Headscale server and the API key you sign in with, in the device keychain.
• A local history of the access control policies you save from the app, in a file in the app's own storage, so a change can be read back and reverted.
• Your choice of light or dark appearance.

All of it stays on the device and is removed when you delete the app.

Where the app sends data

Only to the Headscale server whose address you enter. Every request goes straight from your device to that server, over the scheme and port you gave. The app contacts no other host.

What the developer receives

Nothing. There is no server behind this app and no way for its developer to see your tailnet, your machines, your users or your policy. Crash reports reach the developer only if you have turned on sharing with app developers in iOS Settings, and those come from Apple, anonymised, with no content from the app.

Children

The app is a system administration tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date above.
